The embassy is divided into 6 sections:

The Chancery performs the political functions of the Embassy, and handles political relations between the British Government and Bahraini Government. This includes co-operation on good governance, democracy, and contact on a wide range of foreign policy issues. See 'Working with Bahrain' for more information.
The Defence Section is responsible for liasing with Bahraini defence organisations to take forward issues such as defence co-operation and training initiatives.

The Consular Section deals with all consular issues, including lost passports, registration of UK nationals and cases of distress. The Press & Public Affairs Section informs people in Bahrain about British policies and values. It provides services for local and international media, teachers, students, civil society and others with an interest in Britain. The Management Section is responsible for the day to day running of the embassy and looks after staff and all Embassy property, as well as controlling the Embassy’s budgets.
