Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Mr Jamie Bowden.

 

Jamie was born on 27th May 1960. He is married to Sarah, and has five children aged between thirteen and three.

 

Jamie joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1986 after seven years as an Army Officer (in the Royal Green Jackets). During his 20 years in the Diplomatic Service he has served in Aden, Khartoum, Washington, Riyadh and Kabul. In addition he has occupied positions in London as Desk Officer in Republic of Ireland Department, and as Head of the Political Section in United Nations Department. Immediately before taking up his current position Jamie was Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kuwait, from where he did six months temporary duty as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Baghdad.
