The British Embassy runs an annual scholarship programme called the Chevening Scholarships

These awards offer the chance of study in the United Kingdom for Bahrainis who have the potential to develop into future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers.

Applicants must:

1.    Be Bahraini; they are expected to return to Bahrain on completion of their studies.
2.    Be university graduates with several years’ work experience.
3.    Have excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.

The Embassy will give priority to candidates whose proposed fields of study are most relevant to Bahrain’s economic, social or technological development.

Relevant fields might include:

• Economics • Business • Law • Political science • Banking • Public administration • Energy • ICT • Health management • Education management • Community development.
